It has been a little over a year since I last posted on this blog. While I can’t believe that I let it get that far, I am also extending a ton of grace to myself because a lot has certainly been happening in my life and at some point I just had to let go of certain things, to make room for others.
So a quick life update, just to get that out of the way… I am a mom! Yes that is the biggest update of teh past year, and really what has kept me away from most spaces. But yes, I am an obsessed boy mom, Baby Amesu is the most adorable little guy ever and our lives have just been so much more full with him.
Another update – I am in the last stretch of my graduate programme and God-willing, I get to walk across the stage next year.
The past year has just been a whirlwind of a year for me, outside of being pregnant (pretty much all year), I had to step back from a decades-long friendship, which doing so literally broke my heart but ultimately I came to understand that I need to always go where I am loved, and wanted. But in losing that, I also solidified amazing friendships this year and I finally feel that we have a solid, strong community here in NYC, which is not an easy feat to pull of considering we moved here not too long before the pandemic hit.
On the work front, I was on the brink of burn out to be quite honest, but this was also the year where I trusted myself fully in the workplace and I was completely able to see the results of doing that, especially the new confidence I had in executing my work. I basically came to a place where I know I have so much to learn, but I am so confident in what I have learnt, what I can do, and all that I am capable of!
The past year has been one where I was able to reflect on my growth, and start to capitalise on it and I am so excited to keep doing that but as a mom, which is a whole new role I am reveling in, and I am excited for the future!

P.S. It is currently 33 degrees Fahrenheit in NYC and between that and staying home with my little guy, I have not gotten a chance to go out and shoot but I have so many pieces that I am excited to style as soon as I can tear myself away from the cutest baby boy!
