Staple transitional pieces for Fall

The changing seasons is such a new and welcome concept for me… in Namibia we had Winter and Summer, and maybe an in-between season for two seconds. I’m coming to fin dout though that there’s just something about a new season that makes me excited to press reset, like a blank slate in a way. So whether it’s decluttering my apartment, or refreshing my closet, I just the love the idea of change that comes with a new season.

Naturally, I’ve fallen in love with Fall. Now while I’m still warming up to the American concept of pumpkin everything, I do love the coziness and warmness of everything else. Transitioning my closet for fall was something I initially struggled with because I was never too sure what weather to dress for, but I think I’ve gotten the hang of it now, and let me tell you, Fall is the season for fashion! There is so much room to play around with different items, whether layering them, adding sleeves, or cute boots! I just love the versatility of Fall!

I shopped my closet for my favourite transitional pieces to share with you guys. All these pieces can be added to a typical summer outfit to make it fall-friendly without breaking the bank. Now don’t get me wrong, the new season definitely warrants some new pieces, but that’s for another blog post.

I pulled pieces from my closet that allowed me to do a bit of layering or add a bit of those warm, dark tones that one would typically associate with the warmer weather.

A trenchcoat is the most tried and tested fall transitional piece out there…It is light enough to provide that little bit of warmth, and if you pick the right one, it can also elevate your look. I paired mine with some leggings, a basic sleeveless top, and strappy heels for an elevated casual look.

I also pulled this Missguided sweatshirt and $11.99 pair of snakeskin boots from my closet, to throw pair with one of my favourite ribbed midi dresses for a very casual, day time look that I think is very stylish. The boots were a steal from Target last winter and I still think they were well worth the hoops I had to jump to get them!

Still powering throough with my boots, I ‘borrowed’ my husband’s leather jacket to edge up this HM shirt dress that was one of my favourite summer looks. The boots and the jacket definitely give a little bit of edge, and the leather always brings the sexy!
