So, NYC is slowly opening up, just in time for the warm weather that keeps flirting with us, and I have been pulling together my Spring/Summer wardrobe. Instead of pulling out all my warm weather clothes, this year I’ve decided to pull a few focal pieces and build around those. This way I ensure that I only have clothes that I love and enjoy wearing.
One of my focal pieces for the summer is this animal print maxi dress.
Animal print can easily fall into the tacky realm if too much is done with it, and between the sleeves, low neckline, frills and slit on this dress scared me at first, but I love that this dress does more than just be a cute print maxi dress.
The slightly exaggerated balloon leaves give it a necessary touch of elegance, and that paired with the low neckline carefully balances out the sexy factor of this dress.
I love that it’s belted, and that makes for a perfectly cinched and snatched waist.
The frills, though scary at first are perfect as they carefully hide the slit, making sure only the tiniest bit of leg shows, which I think is just so sexy!
This dress perfectly transitions into the summer because it is so light and airy, (and when the wind blows, it makes for a pretty good Beyoncé moment J). Not to mention, it works well for day and night time events, brunch, lunch, dinner, and with the perfect pair of heels, it could even do wedding!
